Behavioral Health Treatment in Toledo & Northwest Ohio

Vital Health provides comprehensive behavioral health treatment for adults and youth in Toledo, Maumee, and the surrounding Northwest Ohio communities including Perrysburg, Sylvania, Oregon, Bowling Green, Findlay, and Defiance. Our team of over 50 licensed clinicians, psychiatrists, nurses, and peer support specialists delivers evidence-based care across the full continuum — from crisis intervention and ambulatory detox through long-term outpatient therapy and recovery housing.

We specialize in treating co-occurring disorders, also known as dual diagnosis, where mental health conditions like depression, anxiety, or PTSD exist alongside substance use disorders. Research consistently shows that treating both conditions simultaneously produces significantly better outcomes than addressing them separately. Our integrated treatment model ensures that psychiatric care, behavioral therapy, medication management, and peer support work together as a unified plan tailored to each individual.

For substance use disorders, we offer Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) using Sublocade and Vivitrol (monthly injections that eliminate the need for daily dosing), medically supervised ambulatory detox, Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP) providing 5-6 hours of structured treatment daily, Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) with flexible morning and evening schedules for working adults, and ORH-certified recovery housing for those who need a stable, substance-free living environment during early recovery.

For mental health conditions, our psychiatric team provides comprehensive evaluation, medication management, and ongoing monitoring. Our therapists use proven modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) for trauma, and motivational interviewing.
